If you are a Super User on WhosOff, staff may come to you for assistance if they cannot remember their login details, or their password is not working. If this happens, there are a couple of ways you can assist.

First, you can Generate & Send a new password, this will send an email to the email address that the user has registered on WhosOff, containing their username (this is their email address)  and a temporary password. When they use this to log in, they will be forced to create their own password.

Alternately, you can manually set a password for the user, then contact them outside of WhosOff to let them know what password you have set. Once they log in they can choose to change their password (this is recommended).

To Generate a new password;
Go to the Administration dropdown
Click Manage Staff
Find the staff member on the list (you may need to use the Department dropdown at the top) and click on their name
On the left hand side, click the Staff profile tab – you may want to check they have the correct email address registered, if you need to adjust the email then make sure to click Save account details afterwards
Click the Generate & Send New Password button, then click OK in the resulting dialogue box.

To set the user’s password yourself;
Go to the Administration dropdown
Click Manage Staff
Find the staff member on the list (you may need to use the Department dropdown at the top) and click on their name
On the left hand side, click the Staff profile tab
Click Create Password, then enter the user’s new password and enter it a second time to confirm it.
Click Save Account Details at the bottom right of the page.

Once this is done, you’ll need to contact the user separately to inform them of their new password. Don’t click Generate & Send New Password, as this will override the password you have just set with a system-generated temporary password.
